My name is Hayden Sies, and I am a graduate of Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Interactive Design & Technology (IDT) program. As a student in the IDT program at Sask. Polytech, I worked on a wide variety of assignments and projects, being instructed in the numerous unique areas in the design and tech industry, including menus, movie posters, and logo designs.
However, me and my classmates did much more than just graphic design, as we learned the principle coding languages used for website design, including HTML, CSS, while also practicing JavaScript and PHP coding. In addition to this, we also worked with numerous software and applications specifically tailored to help businesses with emailing newsletters, social media campaigns, and coordinating work with peers on larger projects. I learned all this alongside video editing, 3D modelling, animation principles, and more.
My personal specialty lies mainly in the area of design, and furthermore, I have extensive experience in the use of Adobe programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, raster and vector graphics, alongside other programs. While I consider myself a graphic designer first and foremost, I am also well-versed in UI/UX design and knowledgeable in using Adobe XD. I constantly aim to improve, being eager to learn and improve my ability in both areas of design.
With the IDT program I learned a great deal about not only design and tech, but also the business and industry itself, and am now well prepared to enter the industry.
